3 habits you must add to your routine to be productive during quarantine

New projects.... New type of classes....New atmosphere.... New situation.... Yep, it’s quarantine time.

Not all academic years are the same. Each year is very different in its own way. Almost everything we know about our school or our university takes a different form each year. Even our lifestyle may change every year. But this year is definitely so much different from any other academic year and we all know why. It is such a traumatizing period and yet we have to be on schedule and keep up with our studies. Lovely!!!!

It is highly unlikely that you would follow the same routine that you had always followed. Even I don't follow the same routine. In fact, I don't have a routine anymore. But I know I have to start studying for my own good. It took all my strength to form a schedule finally...lol.

So here are some of my tips that would help you to be on track again in no time!!!

These habits are not only for students but for anyone who is trying to be productive during this quarantine. This stage is in fact, a very crucial period in our life. But whatever is the situation, we all need to be productive to keep our lives running and we need to do this quickly to adapt to the new environment.

1. Planning
I can't emphasize on this enough. This is the most important thing to keep yourself productive. This might sound very monotonous now after hearing and reading about it in various places. But there is a reason for why it is on everyone's list. For me, this is helping me so much to be productive these days. Honestly, in the first 2 weeks of my quarantine I literally did nothing but sleeping and binge watching my favourite shows. If it wasn't for planning, probably I would still be binge watching.

In fact, planning is so simple.

Just take out a notebook and a pen and start writing whatever task you feel is important starting from the most important to the least. In fact, planning your whole day ahead of you makes life so much simpler. Write down everything you do in a day including you bathing time, cooking, breakfast, lunch, dinner, your nap time....everything. This way, you don't need to spend time on thinking when to bath and when to eat. Plus, it really helps when your day is already structured and is waiting for you to just jump in and start. And don't forget to have time limit for each of your tasks, including your shower time. Without time limits you are just going to sit in one or two tasks the whole day.

2. Reward yourself

Rewarding....trust me, this helps.

When you have something to look forward to that you like, then definitely you are going to finish the tasks without any hindrance.

Reward yourself when you finish a task. It could be anything, watering your plants, reading some pages of your favourite book, watching an episode of your favourite show, drawing a picture or maybe just taking a nap for 10-20 minutes. Do whatever that makes you feel happy at the end of each task to motivate yourself to do the next task.

3.Exercise

Well, I don’t need to insist much on this, because you would already know about the benefits of exercising. If you can't head up to the gym because of the quarantine, then definitely some of you will not have the motivation to exercise at home. But exercising will keep you active and productive during the day. It is very important to keep your body fit at times like these to keep yourself active and productive.

If you are someone who has lost all motivation to exercise, then first start by jogging or walking in your terrace or lawn(at least for half an hour). This way you have at least started to boost your mind and body for the day, which is an achievement in itself. Personally, I go 20 rounds in the morning in my terrace to keep me active.

So, these are the 3 habits that I follow to be stable, productive life during the quarantine. I hope these habits will help you too. If you have a habit that helps you a lot in life, then please share it in the comments below.
